Help Lines Near Gold Horse Casino

Help in Lloydminster depends on which province a person lives in, so this page lists both Saskatchewan and Alberta. Further down, the Border Desk explains how it checks the facts it prints.

Help on both sides of the line

  • Saskatchewan Problem Gambling Helpline: 1-800-306-6789. Trained counsellors give free, confidential help 24 hours a day.
  • Problem gambling is covered by the Addiction Helpline (Recovery Alberta) in Alberta: 1-866-332-2322, free, confidential and answered round the clock. 211 Alberta also refers people to gambling support.
  • SIGA Voluntary Self-Exclusion, requested at any SIGA casino, bars the person from all nine Saskatchewan casinos for between 6 months and 5 years. Game Break, a confidential self-exclusion run by SaskGaming, keeps a person away from PlayNow.com and from every casino in Saskatchewan for 6 months up to 5 years.
  • Enrolment in AGLC's Self-Exclusion Program happens online at selfexclusion.ca; it can apply to regulated online gaming, to racing entertainment centres and casinos in Alberta, or to both. Any term, be it one, two or three years or six months, starts immediately and cannot be cut short.

A limit set before the drive

From Sunday through Thursday nights the doors at Gold Horse Casino shut at 3 a.m., moving to 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. With a closing hour that late, the clock seldom ends a visit by itself. A spending amount and a stop time are easier to settle at home, before the drive to 41st Street. Once decided, both stay fixed.

A limit covers what a person is prepared to spend. It is not a target for winning, and it is not money to be won back.

How the Border Desk works

Everything in this guide is written by, and signed collectively as, the Border Desk. Pages carry no personal bylines, and no author is named anywhere on the site. The desk verified the facts on October 3, 2026, using Alberta sources, the Government of Saskatchewan, Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan, SIGA and the casino's own pages. A rule is printed only with its province named, because Lloydminster sits in two.

Distances on these pages run as the crow flies between two map points, the casino's coordinates and an OpenStreetMap town point in Saskatchewan or Alberta (© OpenStreetMap contributors). The desk does not estimate driving times.

Lloydminster Casinos asks for no sign-ups, comments or forms. Your browser may hold your chosen colour theme. Page views are tallied with no cookie, yet a separate tally service gets your IP address and browser details.

The site's six pictures were made with an image generator and look like photographs. Four, modelled on real photographs, show Gold Horse Casino: the building from its parking lot at sunset and a red table with slot rows on the gaming floor. Schnitzel and steak dinners from the Sports Bar & Grill and the empty stage of the events room complete the four. A motorhome on an empty lot at dusk and a gravel grid road between canola and wheat show no particular place. Nobody appears in any of the six.
